In the search for solutions to challenges facing the world, a group of dedicated arts educators, public health workers, and citizens came together in Los Angeles in 2014 to discuss the importance of the arts and humanities to the livelihood of our planet.
What emerged from this collective discussion at the LA Public Library Central Branch was Arts Alliance for Humanity, a unprecedented mutually-supporting program of Arts Education and socially healing Arts Projects for the community.
Based out of the 55 year-old historic Santa Monica Playhouse and its internationally recognized theater arts program, Arts Alliance for Humanity is an example of what is possible when caring and dedicated individuals come together to collaborate, co-create, and uplift humanity. Through educational outreach and the development of new works for the public, it is the program’s mission to revitalize our communities with the power of the arts.
